South Africa beat Australia by 177 runs in the first of the three Test series at the WACA in Perth on Monday (November 7). Set an improbable target of 539 runs, Australia survived for 119.1 overs to score 361. Usman Khawaja top scored with 97 with wicketkeeper Peter Nevill remaining unbeaten on 60. Kagiso Rabada was the wrecker in chief for the visitors, taking 5 for 92 to derail the Australian chase. Understandably, the 21-year-old fast bowler was adjudged Man of the Match for returning match figures of 7 for 170.
